Summertime

Summertime means lemonade, long walks, splashing water, gardening and most of all time with my children. They make summertime wondrous. We have had many expeditions searching for ladybugs, watching seeds turn into plants, discovering new playgrounds, painting with water, etc.etc.etc.

Our best expedition this summer was sleeping in a tee-dpee surrounded by mountains. The top of our tee-pee was open to the stars. In the morning as we cooked breakfast, deer wandered through the camp. Even the gopher enjoyed our last scrap of lettuce. The whole experience was alive and magical. We are so blessed to live in this world that Jesus Christ created. My heart wanted to sing out in praise!

Later that day we found another gem, Red Rock Canyon. While walking around the canyon, I watched the children explore with enthusiasm. Their curiosity led us straight down to the water in the canyon. We removed our shoes and waded in the freezing cold creek. The rocks were so slippery that we ended up swimming a couple of times. It was absolutely amazing...we even went down a couple of natural water slides.

Moments like these where we spend time together are engraved in my heart. It has been another wonderful summer. Thanks for the memories.
